About Me

My Background

Thank you for visiting my site! I’ve spent more than 25 years in leadership and project management roles across corporate, startup, and government environments.

I began my career at OneAmerica (formerly American United Life) in Indianapolis, IN where I spent a decade building a strong foundation in operations, technology, and team leadership. During my time there, I supported retirement services, helped launch multiple software initiatives, established a technical support help desk, and eventually led an operations team of 45 staff.

Seeking new challenges, I joined SunGard, where I managed onsite technical teams supporting locations in Charlotte, NC, and Birmingham, AL—overseeing nearly 70 contractors. Afterward, I consulted with Cummins as both a Business Analyst and Project Manager, contributing to initiatives in engine operations and master data management.

My mid-career years took me to Author Solutions in Bloomington, IN, a fast-growing startup where I initially joined as a Business Analyst. I soon stepped into leadership roles managing project portfolios and supporting the launch of new publishing imprints. I eventually led teams of Technical Product Managers across the U.S., Philippines, and India.

Because of my startup and scaling experience, I was recruited by Offensive Security to build and lead the company’s first Project Management function, along with several operations teams supporting global students. OffSec gave me the unique opportunity to launch exam proctoring operations in Cebu City, Philippines, where I relocated to establish our presence on the ground. I was later promoted to Chief Operating Officer. When I joined, I was employee number 34; by the time I left, my teams spanned 14 countries with 170 direct and indirect reports. While in Cebu, I also volunteered with LoveYourself, an HIV-prevention advocacy organization.

In 2021, I returned to the U.S. with a desire to get closer to hands-on project work. I joined VMware as a Manager of Technical Program Managers, overseeing a small team while also directly managing programs myself. I supported the Observability organization with OKRs, quarterly planning, and product initiatives—including a major advanced logging project.

Most recently, I entered public service as a Sr. IT Project Manager for the State of Indiana in the Office of Early Childhood and Out-of-School Learning (OECOSL). There, I led several mission-critical initiatives, including the transition from swiped attendance to pay-by-enrollment for subsidy families, the launch of a new statewide payment system, and the technical and business oversight of our state-sponsored Child Care Management Systems (CCMS). I managed the majority of our technical vendors. I also played a key role in translating legislative changes into system requirements and supported important data and reporting efforts across the division.

I am certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP), through Project Management Institute (PMI), a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) through Scrum Alliance. I also received my Six Sigma Black Belt early in my career which helps me keep everything I do focused on process improvement.

On a personal note, I’m married, have two adult children, three grandchildren, and two energetic furbabies—a boxer and a golden retriever—who love to sneak into Teams and Zoom calls.
